Connie Sowinski (Holtz)

Connie Sowinski Holtz

January 20, 1957 - June 21, 2024

Connie passed peacefully very early Friday morning, June 21, surrounded by husband Dennis, their two sons, and daughter.

Our reunion team is much diminished without Connie.  She led the "Core Six" and contributed in every area of planning for the 50 year reunion.  Her experience as a leader with our 10, 20, and 30 year reunions was very valuable. She is greatly missed.

Our dear Connie. So smart and fiesty just a few weeks ago. Funny and interesting. It's hard to believe. She made a beautiful family and solid friendships. She made things happen. She mattered. I will never forget her and will keep her with me. ❤️

Connie and I became friends just recently while helping her plan for the upcoming 50th reunion. I am just a helper this time, but Connie,  with the other team members,  have done an amazing job preparing for this event. It was a shock to learn that she had passed on the 21st of June .She inspired me in the short time I got to know her and I am honored to have spent even a few hours getting to know this intelligent, thoughtful and lovely person. Looking forward to seeing you again in Heaven Connie. My love and prayers to your family and friends.🫶

IN LOVING MEMORY ~ CONNIE LOUISE HOLTZ  JANUARY 20,1957 ~ JUNE 21, 2024

CONNIE WAS BORN IN COSHECTON, OHIO AND IS ONE OF NINE CHILDREN. THE FAMILY MOVED SEVERAL TIMES OVER THE YEARS, AND EVENTUALLY MOVED TO HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA. IT WAS HERE THAT SHE MET AND MARRIED HER SWEETHEART DENNIS IN 1975, AND THEY WERE MARRIED ALMOST 49 YEARS.

CONNIE AND DENNIS LIVED IN HUNTINGTON BEACH FOR TWO YEARS, THEN MOVED TO SAN DIEGO FOR TWO MORE. THEY RETURNED TO HUNTINGTON BEACH IN 1979 AND LIVED ON THE FAMILY FARM WHERE DENNIS WAS RAISED, AND IT WAS HERE THAT CONNIE AND DENNIS RAISED THEIR THREE CHILDREN.

IN 1997 THE FAMILY MOVED TO ORANGE, CALIFORNIA WHERE THEY LIVED FOR THE NEXT EIGHT YEARS, AND THEN THEIR FINAL MOVE TO ARROYO GRANDE IN 2006.

WHILE RAISING HER FAMILY, CONNIE PROVED TO BE A WONDERFUL MOTHER AND VERY SUPPORTIVE WIFE, A LOVING AUNT AND SISTER, AS WELL AS A VALUED EMPLOYEE AND ASSOCIATE DURING HER WORKING YEARS.

SHE ENJOYED HER ROLE AS A MOTHER, AND BEING A GRANDMOTHER GAVE HER TREMENDOUS JOY AS SHE BECAME CLOSELY INVOLVED IN EACH OF HER GRANDCHILDREN'S LIVES. CONNIE LOVED TO SING AND HER VOICE WAS ANGELIC. SHE WAS IN MANY CHURCH CHOIRS AND MOST RECENTLY, THE COASTAL VOICES COMMUNITY CHOIR. TRAVELING AND ORGANIZING FAMILY OUTINGS AND PARTIES ALSO BROUGHT MUCH HAPPINESS AND HER SENSE OF HUMOR NEVER FADED AS SHE GREW OLDER.

CONNIE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HER FATHER AND MOTHER. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER HUSBAND, DENNIS, THREE CHILDREN AND FIVE GRANDCHILDREN. SHE IS SURVIVED BY HER THREE BROTHERS, AND FIVE SISTERS. SHE IS ALSO SURVIVED BY MANY NIECES, NEPHEWS.

~THOSE WHO TOUCH OUR LIVES, STAY IN OUR HEARTS FOREVER~
